Rubies as a company holds charity and helping others as one of their core values, which is why they are thrilled to have continued their partnership with The Children’s Society. Following generous donations in recent years, Rubies has recently donated an additional £17.5k worth of costumes and accessories to help support vulnerable children.
The Children’s Society has a rich 140-year history of supporting children living through neglect, abuse or exploitation. Their services include but are not limited to, supporting children with their well-being and mental health, covering expenses for necessities and bills, and campaigning for changes in policies and laws to better protect and improve the lives of children across the UK.
The stock Rubies have donated is from a diverse range of licenses and brands, intended to support the charity with raising crucial funds. They will be sold in The Children’s Society’s physical and online shops, enabling the charity to raise money to support vulnerable children. The partnership between Rubies and The Children’s Society not only reduces their carbon footprint by avoiding landfill but also gives everyone the chance to support a brilliant cause.
One of the biggest sources of funding for The Children’s Society is its 103 charity shops, and the charity’s online platforms such as eBay and Give Hope. £10 million was raised through retail last year, which has helped many families and young people through the cost-of-living crisis.
“Since our partnership began, we have always been proud to support the charity and we hope our donated stock will fund vital services.”
Fran Hales, Head of Portfolio and Marketing,
“We are enormously grateful for Rubies incredible support. More than a quarter of young people in the UK are living in poverty and an estimated 500,000 children suffer abuse each year in England and Wales alone. Hundreds of thousands of children are dealing with mental health challenges and many are struggling with low wellbeing. Tens of thousands of others are exploited by criminals.”
Rebecca Lucas, Corporate Donations Manager for The Children’s Society,
“The Children’s Society work to transform the hopes and happiness of young people facing abuse, exploitation and neglect. Our partnership with Rubies contributes to raising crucial income through our charity shops and e-commerce operations. The funds that are raised support projects in local communities to change children’s lives and deal with the challenges that children are now faced with on a daily basis. We can’t thank Rubies enough for their generosity”
Rubies continues its charity endeavours since the start of its partnership with The Children’s Society and aims to continue supporting them in the near future. Stay tuned to find out more about how much Rubies has raised to fund the charity’s services!
