STAR WARS FACTS

The Phantom Menace 25th anniversary

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999) saw the debut of one of Star War’s most iconic villains, Darth Maul. His double-bladed lightsabre was designed to symbolise his aggression and ferocity in combat. Its unique design required Park to undergo additional training to handle the weapon effectively during fight sequences.

“I am your father” was kept a secret, even from the cast…

During filming, the script featured the deceptive line, “Obi-Wan killed your father,” keeping the true revelation veiled. Only moments before filming the scene, Mark Hamill, who portrayed Luke Skywalker, was discreetly informed about the genuine ancestry twist.

Star Wars Young Jedi Adventures

The first Star Wars series created for pre-schoolers. Set during the High Republic era, centuries before the events of the main Star Wars films, Star Wars: Young Jedi Adventures follows a group of younglings trained by Yoda, as they learn the ways of the Force, including compassion, self-discipline, teamwork and patience, to become Jedi Knights.

Understanding the Star Wars Universe

Storyline: Star Wars is an epic space opera that takes place in a galaxy far, far away. The story revolves around the battle between the Jedi and the Sith, as well as the ongoing conflict between the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire.

Familiarise yourself with the most popular characters, such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, Boba Fett, Yoda, and The Mandalorian, all of which are still hugely popular Halloween or costume party dress-up options, even decades after the original films release!

Factions: The Star Wars galaxy is divided into various factions, each with its own agenda and ideology. These factions include the Jedi Order, the Sith Order, the Rebel Alliance, the Galactic Empire, and various other groups and organisations.

Now that you’re familiar with the Star Wars universe and the features of our costumes, here are some selling techniques to keep in mind:

Upselling

Many of our Star Wars costumes come with accessories such as blasters, and masks to complete the look. These accessories are a great addition to your collection and allow customers to fully immerse themselves in the Star Wars experience. On top of this, our ‘The Child Shoulder Sitter’ is the ideal toy or gift for Star Wars fans of any age. Level up their costume or cosplay with the adorable Grogu who sits neatly (and comfortably!) on your shoulder.

Cross-selling

Pairing costumes like The Mandalorian and Grogu or Darth Vader with Stormtroopers not only offers iconic combinations but also opens doors for cross-selling opportunities. Customers drawn to one costume may be inclined to explore complementary options, leading to increased sales across related products. This strategy not only satisfies diverse preferences within the fan base but also maximises revenue potential by encouraging customers to purchase additional items.
